Explore a wide range of pharmaceutical principles, career concepts, and skills needed to become a pharmacy technician
Assist pharmacists with prescriptions, answering patient questions about medications and participate in retail pharmacy procedures through on-site externships
Upon successful completion, the student will be eligible to become a nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

Pharmacy Technician students must be able to
Read, comprehend, and follow textbooks and materials
Accurately perform math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages)
Use good written and oral communication skills
Work independently and in teams
Operate a computer to research topics incorporating critical thinking to complete assignments on a daily basis
Follow and apply safety and confidentiality guidelines and aseptic/sterile techniques in medication preparations
